As a team, we will endeavour to help you feel relaxed and at ease when you are at our salons.  We will listen to you and help you select the best possible colour, cutting and styling options for your hair.  We can also recommend the right beauty treatments to help your skin glow.

Michelle Marshall

They said Michelle couldn’t be a hairdresser and tried to push her into childcare ! That didn’t put her off and at 15 years old she started a Saturday job at a trendy hair salon called Marc Jordan 2. There she saw how exciting the hairdressing industry could be and how much of an impact a hairdresser has on a client's life.

Michelle then completed an apprenticeship after finishing school and went on to work in a few salons around Cardiff where training wasn’t a priority. Michelle then found the right position in a north Cardiff salon that really focused on education and put the team development at the forefront of the salon.

She learnt the importance of the total salon experience from a client’s perspective and quickly developed into a popular stylist becoming an Assistant Manager along the way. This stood her in good stead to later take on her own salon as she understood the need of guests to be treated with respect and understanding.

For the last 12 years Michelle has been a Redken artist, this sees her travelling nationally and internationally to help other like-minded salon professionals to be the best that they can be at delivering the ultimate salon experience.

Michelle loves nothing better than to recreate styles and solve problems that guests have with their hair. Balayage , Babylights and Creative color being her forté. Her favourite product line has got to be the Extreme range with Extreme Length her first choice for faster growing hair.

Jaime

Styling hair is in Jaime’s blood.  From a small boy he was plaiting his father's hair and cutting his sister’s doll’s hair, giving them mohawks and inverted bobs.  In school he was cutting friends' hair and, by the age of 16, he had joined his first salon.

By the time he was 21, Jaime had joined a prestigious salon in Brighton where his clients included local business people and celebrities. After 10 years in Brighton, Jaime moved to Pembrokeshire for a quieter life where he helped progress several salons. He stayed there for 8 years before deciding to move to Cardiff and eventually made his way to Michelle Marshall salon in 2015.

During Lockdown Jaime kept busy continuously improving his skills and knowledge.  He attended a range of virtual training webinars and events.  Here are just some of the things that Jaime has attended:

Jess

Designer Stylist Jess joined the Michelle Marshall Team in 2016. Since then, Jess has received the best in house training to enable her to qualify as a stylist in 2017, and then working her way up to Senior Stylist 2019 and she has now been promoted to Designer.  

A super talented hairdresser, Jess has built quite a reputation for that low key lived in hair that is so popular on Instagram. Balayage, Foilyage and the Aussie blonde technique with an on trend face framer, this is totally her thing and with the addition of her signature LA beach wave.

And top top it all, Jess qualified during lockdown taking a 3 day exam to become a

REDKEN CERTIFIED HAIRCOLORIST (a degree in hair colouring).

There are very few hair colourists that pass this intense examination on all things hair science, product knowledge and application skills. She really is the one to watch and the one to book in for with all your hair colour concerns. Jess will analyse your hair and recommend the correct home care rehab program, in salon hair treatments and hair colour / cutting services to get your hair looking and feeling beautiful. 

Jess is also Rhiwbina's resident Great Lengths hair extensions expert.  Great Lengths is a hot fusion pre bonded method which is very popular.  In addition, Jess has now qualified in Racoon International Luxe Link hair extensions method. Qualification as a Racoonista sees Jess building her skills portfolio to new levels. 

She is building her technical skills still further, focusing on Fabriq keratin treatments. Find out more here.

Heidi

Heidi started working for Michelle Marshall in late 2015. She enjoys every day at Michelle Marshall Salon which she puts down to the great team she works with and the fantastic training she is receiving. Thanks to her hard work and enhanced skills, Heidi is now a Senior Stylist at our Rhiwbina salon.

Heidi loves nothing better than to help her Guests  feel great about their hair which ultimately helps them feel better about themselves. A detailed , organised and very pleasant person Heidi is always here to help . 

An on point haircutter, Heidi has a varied Guest list with a strong  barbering skill, and a fabulous hair colourist .

Georgia

Georgia is our Manager and one of our Designers at our Wyndham Arcade salon.   A supper talented all round hairdresser with 9 years experience within the profession. Along with her talents for colouring and cutting she is also one of our curly hair experts.

But its not just long hair that she is great at but she loves a pixie cut . 

Consultation is definitely one of Georgia's strong points being able to comunicate to her guests about what they would love to achieve and how to analysis the hair to make sure she is looking after the condition and well and giving you the color that you LOVE , 

Georgia is definitely a keen DIVA light photographer and loves nothing better than capturing her guests finished look on camera. HOT TIP ! come prepared to be a celebrity for your visit.

Emma

Aesthetics Practitioner Emma joined Michelle Marshall Salon in January 2015 and has worked her way though all salon roles from book keeping and social media to reception and admin.  She is now an Aesthetics Practitioner at our Rhiwbina salon.

Emma graduated from Cardiff University in 2019 with a degree in Dental Therapy & Hygiene. She works as a Dental Therapist in dental practices based in South Wales and Bristol and previously worked in a hospital based in South Wales.  Since January 2022 she has been carrying out medically trained procedures from anti-wrinkle and dermal filler augmentations to the ever popular skin boosters using the complete Teoxane range.

We salute you Emma! We are just lucky that Emma loves working with us so much, that she says she couldn't imagine ever working anywhere else!
