Why Is Allergy Patch Testing Important When You Visit Our Cardiff Hair Salons?
Your safety is always our top priority at Michelle Marshall Salons. We only use top quality hair care products from Redken at our Cardiff salons, and although allergic reactions to hair dye are rare, they can happen. Allergic reactions to hair dye can be extremely serious and that’s why it’s very important that that you follow our guidelines on allergy patch testing.
When you visit our salons we always ask you a series of questions about your allergies and general health. This is because we have a duty of care and prevent any serious health & safety problems that could potentially result in you becoming seriously unwell.
Even if you have had an allergy test with us previously, did you know that if you…
- Colour your hair at home in between appointments with another brand of hair colour OR
- Go somewhere else for your hair colour OR
- Have eye brow or lash tint OR
- Suffer from Covid-19 or other health issues
…this can affect your sensitivity to hair colour products? Allergies to products can also build up over time.
This means we will need to carry out a new patch test on your skin. A patch test also needs to be carried out every year as a standard safety procedure.
If you visit us regularly and don’t go longer than six months between hair colour visits, then your skin test will remain valid with us as long as you don’t do any of the things mentioned above. You will simply need to get it updated every year.
We carry out all of these safety checks because we care so much about all our Guests’ wellbeing. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact the salon, where our front of house team will be on hand to help. Call us on 029 2061 1566 for more information. Thank you for your understanding and support.
