Hey, I’m Heidi. I joined the Michelle Marshall Salon team in October 2015. Over the years, I’ve learned a lot and I’m still training now, going over different techniques and putting our knowledge to the test. I was lucky enough to attend the Redken Symposium 2024 in Berlin, where I picked up loads of new cutting, colouring, and styling skills.
I love cutting, especially choppy, edgy hairstyles. I’m also really into all types of blonding, whether it’s balayage, full blonding, or just a face frame. I like giving my guests a relaxing and calm experience here at Michelle Marshall Salon. My guests love my scalp massages, so make sure you ask for a head spa to enjoy a lovely massage. I’ve also been doing ear piercings for a few years.
I’m a mum to two boys, and in my spare time, I love going to concerts. I’d describe myself as organised and spiritual. My favourite morning drink is a nice cup of tea. My colleagues say I’m funny, caring, and methodical.
Aesthetics Practitioner Emma joined Michelle Marshall Salon in January 2015 and has worked her way though all salon roles from book keeping and social media to reception and admin. She is now an Aesthetics Practitioner at our Rhiwbina salon.
Emma graduated from Cardiff University in 2019 with a degree in Dental Therapy & Hygiene. She works as a Dental Therapist in dental practices based in South Wales and Bristol and previously worked in a hospital based in South Wales. Since January 2022 she has been carrying out medically trained procedures from anti-wrinkle and dermal filler augmentations to the ever popular skin boosters using the complete Teoxane range.

They said Michelle couldn’t be a hairdresser and tried to push her into childcare! That didn’t put her off and at 15 years old she started a Saturday job at a trendy hair salon called Marc Jordan 2. There she saw how exciting the hairdressing industry could be and how much of an impact a hairdresser has on a client’s life.
Michelle then completed an apprenticeship after finishing school and went on to work in a few salons around Cardiff where training wasn’t a priority. Michelle then found the right position in a north Cardiff salon that really focused on education and put team development at the forefront of the salon.
She learnt the importance of the total salon experience from a client’s perspective and quickly developed into a popular stylist becoming an Assistant Manager along the way. This stood her in good stead to later take on her own salon as she understood the need for guests to be treated with respect and understanding.
For the last 12 years, Michelle has been a Global Redken Artist. This sees her travelling nationally and internationally to help other like-minded salon professionals to be the best that they can be at delivering the ultimate salon experience.
Michelle loves nothing better than to recreate styles and solve problems that guests have with their hair. Balayage, babylights and creative colour being her forté. Her favourite product line has got to be the Extreme range with Extreme Length her first choice for faster-growing hair.
When not working in the salons, Michelle has devoted much of her time to travelling the world, educating and inspiring fellow hair stylists. With a passion for helping hairdressers reach their full potential, she loves nothing better than mentoring her team and supporting their individual growth within the salon environment. We regularly take time away from the salon to grow as a team—collaborating on future plans and refining the services we offer our guests.
Styling hair is in Jaime’s blood. From a young age, he was plaiting his father’s hair and cutting his sister’s doll’s hair, giving them mohawks and inverted bobs. In school, he was cutting his friends’ hair, and by the age of 16, he had joined his first salon.
By the time he was 21, Jaime was working at a prestigious salon in Brighton, where his clients included local businesspeople and celebrities. After 10 years in Brighton, Jaime moved to Pembrokeshire for a quieter life, where he helped develop several salons. He stayed there for 8 years before deciding to move to Cardiff, eventually joining Michelle Marshall Salon in 2015.
Jaime loves making his guests look and feel fabulous. He enjoys all aspects of hairdressing, from cutting to colouring and everything in between.
Designer Stylist Jess joined the Michelle Marshall Team in 2016. Since then, Jess has received the best in-house training to enable her to qualify as a stylist in 2017, and then work her way up to Senior Stylist in 2019 and she has now been promoted to Designer.
A super talented hairdresser, Jess has built quite a reputation for that low-key lived-in hair that is so popular on Instagram. Balayage, Foilyage and the Aussie blonde technique with an on-trend face framer, this is totally her thing and with the addition of her signature LA beach wave.
And top top it all, Jess qualified during lockdown taking a 3-day exam to become a
REDKEN CERTIFIED HAIR COLOURIST (a degree in hair colouring).
There are very few hair colourists who pass this intense examination on all things hair science, product knowledge and application skills. She really is the one to watch and the one to book in for with all your hair colour concerns. Jess will analyse your hair and recommend the correct home care rehab programme, in-salon hair treatments and hair colour / cutting services to get your hair looking and feeling beautiful.
Jess is also Rhiwbina’s resident Great Lengths hair extensions expert. Great Lengths is a hot fusion pre-bonded method which is very popular. In addition, Jess has now qualified in Racoon International Luxe Link hair extensions method. Qualification as a Racoonista sees Jess building her skills portfolio to new levels.

My name is Carly Lou. I’m a Tier 2 stylist and Team Lead at Wyndham Arcade. I’d like to think I’m a great team player, and there’s nothing I love more than making people happy.
I’m absolutely passionate about working with all types of curly and wavy hair. I qualified in Levels 1 and 2 at Cardiff and Vale College and started with Michelle as an apprentice three years ago.
My favourite hair treatment is the Fabriq keratin treatment—I adore the glass-like shine it gives.
